DTL outsources a range of projects and processes
to home-based professionals called Knowledge
Associates. These home-based professionals are
qualified home-makers, who have at least 5-6
hours to spare in a day and who would like to
do some work on their home computers. Prospective
KAs are tested on multiple parameters before
they are brought on board. Adequate training
is provided by Datamatics and on-going feedback
ensures the home-based professional is equipped
to achieve the high quality standards that the
overseas customer demands.
The success of this concept then lead us to
extend it to other categories of persons –
such as differently abled people, for whom this
mode of working is ideally suited. Datamatics
has over 60 such differently abled people working
on various projects.
The Recruitment criteria, Training modules
and HR policies adopted for KAs, are identical
to the policies adopted for a Full Time Employee
(FTE). This allows for easy migration from one
resource pool into another viz. an FTE who wants
to work flexible hours can opt to become a KA
while a KA whose changed domestic circumstances
allow her to pursue Full Time Employment, can
come on board as a regular staff member.
Datamatics has been felicitated by NASEOH (National
Society for Equal Opportunities for the Handicapped)
for being the first organization to provide
job opportunities to these candidates.
